A working production distillery in Salt River, we’re open for bottle sales, distillery visits, and private events in our StrangeLove Cocktail Lounge. Also now pouring in the City Bowl at Hope Provisions Store.
Hope was founded in 2014 by Lucy Beard and Leigh Lisk in a Salt River warehouse, Cape Town’s first licensed craft distillery.
What started as a singular focus on gin has grown into a full portfolio of modern African spirits, each distilled and bottled on site by our team. Over a decade later, that same hands-on approach drives everything we do and our Hope Provisions Store in the City Bowl marks the next chapter.
Our range spans gin, vodka, agave spirit and rhum agricole, each distilled and bottled on site in Salt River. We also design and distil gins for other brands as well as leading hotels and restaurants.
Gin sits at the heart of what we do, with three flagship expressions joined by a growing selection of collaborative and family releases. The opening of our Hope Provisions Store has led to our latest release: a bottled cocktail range, available in-store and online.
FIRST LICENSED
Hope becomes the first distillery licensed by the City of Cape Town, setting up in a Salt River warehouse.
